The Newbury and Taj Weddings & Events
When one thinks of luxury Indian weddings, the most obvious venue that comes to mind is the Taj Boston, based purely on its name. While this franchise of the Taj was once a Ritz Hotel, it certainly lives up to the royal charm the brand is known to represent. It is a throwback of colonial royal Boston, with it's majestic drapes, wallpaper, carpeting, and views; oh them views! If you are at the Taj Rooftop, you have got yourself a complete view of the Boston Common, and might even spot another bride taking photos in front of the George Washington statue. There is a reason why Boston Sound and Light Company and its planning branch, Mint To Be Events are preferred vendors at this amazing venue. Because when luxury meets luxury, there aint no stopping us!

Edwin and Brianna
This couple wanted Boston Sound and Light Company to transform their wedding into a party to remember. We offered blue uplighting to match the starry night, pinspot lights on each centerpiece, and string lighting on the ceiling grid.

Love Solves All Differences
While BSL has performed a number of luxurious weddings at the Taj, one that we are awfully proud of is of Pavana and Gabriel. The pride is not that this is a same sex wedding, in fact this is the first male Indian based same sex wedding in Massachusetts. The pride is rather in that our music help alleviate cultural differences. There was fear that Pavana's father wouldn't come to the wedding. There was fear that there wouldn't be a priest to conduct the Hindu Ceremony. There was fear nobody got up to dance! Not only did the dad dance, the shenai was played, and everybody had the time of their lives! Read the full blog here.

Tina and Tim
Our sister team, Mint To Be Events had worked with Tina and Tim and their parents for nearly two years to create this masterpiece of a celebration (read the full blog here). The sangeet night was hosted at the Taj Rooftop, where considering the power limitations, BSL still managed to setup two 65in TVs on trussing, nearly 800ft of Bistro lighting, uplighting not only on the floor but in the grid system, and of course the best entertainment that kicked the night off right. The second day redefined the word "epic". The Taj Hotel is a colonial building in the heart of Boston, where one side resides on the infamous Commonwealth Avenue. With a little BSL magic, we worked with Boston Police to shut down Comm Ave for the first time in history of baraats and featured our BSL rickshaw, a horse and carriage and our BSL truck where we ROCKED the wedding day from the moment it started. We not only played all of the traditional Indian songs for the ceremony but provided live mic support for a duet, also provided a full live band support for Natraj Music who played both during the cocktail hour and during the dinner reception. The dinner reception featured our gorgeous uplighting, pattern work framed to the columns, and we had our booth nestled in the Winston Flowers masterpiece of a mandap. Check out the pics below and highlight above from this amazing wedding.
Jessica and Tej
Tej and Jessica visited BSL at DJ Yogz' house. Tej had been sold on BSL prior to the meeting, but wanted to ensure that this fusion wedding was in good hands, specifically with Indian, Top 40 and Latin vibes as Jessica is from Colombia. DJ Lav THREW IT DOWN! Check out these amazing pictures from JessFoto

Saira and Usman
We do all types of weddings. In this Pakistani wedding, we were told that the families were too conservative and would not dance. Check out pics from Binita Patel photography below. The full article on South Asian Bride is located here.

#RoheenGotHisQueen
Neha and Roheen initially booked our luxury wedding planning service, Mint To Be Events. Hiring BSL was a tough sell. Our marketing is such that we ask our couples to pick out 5 songs each, and we quickly whip up a mix to prove to them that we are worth their challenge. Three mixes in, and we almost struck out. Not to fault the mixes any, but the songs they picked were so drastically different, then when we created the mix we mixed them to be played at a wedding. Music played in your car or at home is drastically different than how it is played at a wedding. It wasn't until we ROCKED a friend of the groom's wedding (Himanshu and Meena) that they were beyond sold. Check out their amazing sangeet night held at the
Sikh & Iranian Sangeet
Weddings are occasions for two people to unite. In the case of Gaurika and Kiou, it was two cultures uniting. Guarika (Sikh) and Kiou (Persian) celebrated 3 days in their wedding festivities. The first day was the sangeet on Thursday, April 2nd, 2015 at the Taj Boston Rooftop. Here is a quick video we filmed on our iphone and a few pics we took from the event.
